Day 1: Arrival
at Bujumbura international Airport and transfer to hotel in Bujumbura
city. In the after noon vist the city and beaches on lake Tanganyika back
to hotel early evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Early
after breakfast drive to Rusizi National Park. He we see hippos, crocodiles
and different species of birds. Return to hotel for luch in the afternoon
visit the memorial Livingstone Stanley Markstone (A point David livingstone
and stanley met 130 years ago). From here you visit the zoo where you
see all types of retiles found in Burundi. On arrangement you will be
entertained by the drammers of Burundi at the zoo.
Day 3: Early
morning drive to the south of the country and visit the source of the
Nile River on the same route visit the home of the three former presidents
of Burundi these are:
Micombero, Bagaza and Buyoya you will visit their ancestral home and have
lunch at Buyoya’s guest house in ruvumbu.After luch drive to Rutuna
to see the falls, return in the evening for an overnight stay at Gitega.
Day 4: Early
morning after breakfast visit the National Museum in Gitega. Then drive
to Ruvumbu National Park arriving at lunch time.
Late in the afternoon, go for a game drive where you will se swarms of
elephants, Buffalos and others. Return in the evening for dinner and overnight
stay at the hotel.
Day 5: After breakfast drive to Kibira National park via Muyinga drive to Kibira National Park via Muyinga Ngozi and Kayanza. Arriving at lunch time. After lunch go for a forest walk, where when lucky you can see primates like chimpanzees colobus monkeys, Golden monkey etc. return in the evening for an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 6: In the morning drive to the southern sector of Kibira National Park in Teza visit the Rasarenda falls, visit the INANGURURIRE CAVES and have an overnight stay in Bugarama.
Day 7: Drive to Bujumbara for a rest a hotel
Day 8: After breakfast drive to bukwavu in DRC Cong via changungu in Rwanda for an over night.
Day 9: Early morning drive to the Gahuizibiega National Park for Eastern low land Gorillas tracking return late in the evening for Dinner and an overnight.
Day 10: Early morning drive to Kigali via Nyungwe have lunch stop in Butare. Visit the National Museum in Butare, drive to Kigali to Hotel for overnight stay.
Day 11: Time permitting visit the Genocide memorial site in Kisoni then to Kigali airport for Departure.
