Day 1:
Arrival at Bujumbura Airport and transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit the
city of Bujumbura and beaches at L. Tanganyika early morning come back
to Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2:
Early morning after breakfast drive to Rusizi National Park.
Here we see hippos, crocodiles and different species of birds. Return
to hotel for lunch. Afternoon visit the memorial Livingstone Stanley Markstone
(apoint where Stanley and livingstone met 130 years ago). From here you
visit the zoo where you see all types of reptiles found in Burundi on
arrangement you can be entertained by the drammers of Burundi at the zoo.
Day 3:
Early morning after breakfast drive to the south of the country and visit
the source of the Nile River. On the same route visit a home of the three
former presidents. Micombero Bagaza and Buyoya you will be able to visit
their ancestral home. You will have lunch at Buyoya’s Guest house
in Rutovu. After Lunch we drive to Rutana to visit the falls. Return late
in the evening and have an overnight stay at Gitege.
Day 4: Early morning after breakfast visit the National Museum in Girtega. Then drive to Ruvumbu National Park arriving at lunch time. Late in the afternoon go for a game drive where you will be able to see swams of buffalo’s and elephants return in the evening for Dinner and overnight.
Day 5: After breakfast drive to Kibira National Park via Muyinga, Ngozi and Kayanza arriving at lunch time after lunch go for a forest walk where when lucky you see primates like chimpanzee colobus monkeys and the rare golden monkeys. Kibira is the largest rain forest in Burundi. Return in the evening for an overnight stay.
Day 6: In the morning after breakfast drive to the southern sector of Kibira National park in Teza visit the Rusarenda falls and on your way back you will visit inangurire caves drive to Bujumbura town for Rest.
Day 7: After breakfast you will be driven to the airport for an onward flight or Return home.
